Thank you to the more than 1,000 “fan-atics” for making this year’s Summer Games the loudest and most exciting yet, which is truly something to cheer about! “Fan-atics” signed up for various competitions via the boxes to the right and as you can see, this new volunteer opportunity was a cheering success!

Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg Kick-Off Ceremony – State Capitol in Richmond, Capitol Drive

Cheer on more than 100 local Law Enforcement officers as they run the Olympic Flame into the Capitol and then begin the trek from the Capitol to the Summer Games Opening Ceremony at the University of Richmond.

Join more than 1,500 athletes from across Virginia as they parade into the Robins Center and officially “open” the 2008 Summer Games. Featuring guest speakers, the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron and music by Richmond-based roots-rock band, Jubeus.
